Getting your interior clean

I won't discuss cleaning leather here as I have a vinyl and cloth interior. I do have a leather Wheel Skin's steering wheel cover though, and I use Lexol's Leather Conditioner on it.

For all the vinyl on the doors, dash, seats, and the plastic throughout the interior, I use this stuff called "Tuff Stuff" that comes in a yellow pump spray bottle.
It can be found at most Fred Meyer's stores in the automotive section, and also at Schuck's Auto Supply stores.

This stuff works great with just it, and a dry washcloth.
The nice thing about the Tuff Stuff is it is not a silicone based cleaner like Armor All.
Armor All leaves your dash and vinyl too shiny in my opinion, and also slippery, and greasy feeling.
I quit using that stuff around ten years ago or more.

The Tuff Stuff will simply leave the clean surface behind with no residue.
I do this about every three weeks or so, and more if wheelin' to get off all the dust that comes inside the cab.

For deep cleaning the carpet and cloth seats, Tuff Stuff also comes in a foam version in a can as seen in the above picture. Spray this on the cloth and you can work it in with a scrub brush.
Just don't use the one you have for Ajaxing your tires
Same with the carpet. just spray it on and work it in.

For real deep cleaning, I have one of those steam cleaners that is a smaller version of the big type you pull around behind you like a vacuum.
I used one I had bought at Sear's the following weekend after buying my 4Runner.
It got all the previous smell out of the cockpit, and made the whole inside look great.

Griot's also carries a line of interior products, but I have not tried them yet. I get very good results with what I'm currently using right now.

Like I mentioned, I use the Tuff Stuff about every three weeks on my whole inside, but once a week I use a California Dash Duster on everything, including the instrument panel.
The duster is impregnated with paraffin wax, and it picks up all the dirt and dust on the surface, and makes it look very nice.
I usually do this every Friday when I get home from work. Kind of a treat to have a clean interior for the weekend.

I hope you found these cleaning tips here useful.
Like I mentioned on the first page, these are only my suggestions as to what I use, but it works very well for me, and so far all of these products work for me, and I am very anal when it comes to details whether it's the inside of my rig, or the outside.

Happy cleaning, and don't forget to post pics of your freshly waxed rig on the forums
