Toyota 4Runner Topsites
Speaker Pods
installed in a 2nd gen 4Runner

These pods were in my 4Runner when I bought it.
They will house a 6.5" speaker perfectly.
This way you get great sound up front with good mid bass, and tweeter can be put on the door sill like I have as seen in picture # 2.

My 15" sub in the back takes care of the rest of the bass, and quite nicely fills the whole rig with deep tight bass.

The pods are made of plywood I think, but they might be some other type of wood.
The dimensions are in the JPGs if you are so inclined to copy these and make a set, or have a stereo shop fab them up for you.

It's a two piece design, and taking off the outer cover to recover the material cloth from time to time is a snap (no pun intended) with the snap system that is used as you will see in the pics.

Please take note that my doors have had the map pockets relocated.
The stock doors have the map pockets all the way to the front.
It's a simple matter of taking out the screws from behind the door panel that holds the map pocket on, and relocate the map pocket like mine.
This way your pods will be all the way to the front, and sound much better.
I want to thank Braden (91Runner on YotaTech) for the picture of his door below.
